Sitting, the sound of cars driving by outside gently enter the awareness. The differentiation reminds this consciousness that it is still caught up enough in the dramatic play of birth, death, and rebirth to fool itself into believing the illusion of its own permanence. The sound reminds it of dark winter nights, after the rain has fallen, driving home with Mom and brother, the sound of tires on concrete, head lights cutting through the darkness. And back further, sitting on the couch, watching Dad shave, admiring, putting his gloves on to be like him. Further, colours, shapes, the blue of soft carpet, rounding a corner, into the largest space imaginable, I'm alive.
